Secure document destruction shredding service

Document
Destruction

Secure shredding, on-site destruction and media disposal — confidential waste handled properly at rates that make sense.

Document Destruction

Secure destruction
shouldn't cost a fortune.

Every business handles confidential information — employee records, financial documents, client data, contracts. Secure destruction is a legal requirement, and providers charge accordingly. But "accordingly" doesn't mean "fairly."

Bundle Waste negotiates document destruction rates across Melbourne. We work with NAID-certified shredding companies and secure disposal providers to ensure your confidential waste is handled properly — at rates that reflect the competitive market, not a single provider's margin targets.

Common Questions

Frequently asked
questions

Is your document destruction service certified?+
Yes. All our document destruction partners hold NAID AAA certification — the international standard for secure data destruction. They are also certified under AS/NZS ISO 21964 (the replacement for DIN 66399) and comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme. You receive a Certificate of Destruction for every collection.
Can you handle on-site document shredding?+
Yes. On-site shredding uses mobile trucks that shred documents at your premises while you watch. Costs range from50-$350 per visit for standard volumes (1-10 bins). Off-site shredding is 20-40% cheaper at $5-0 per 120L console, as documents are transported to a secure facility. We recommend on-site for highly sensitive material and off-site for routine destruction.
What about digital media destruction?+
We arrange destruction of hard drives, SSDs, USB drives, tapes, CDs/DVDs, and mobile devices. Physical destruction (shredding or degaussing) costs $10–$25 per item with serial number tracking. Software-based data wiping is available for drives being redeployed at $5–$15 per drive. All destruction meets the Australian Signals Directorate's ISM standards for media sanitisation.
How much does document destruction cost in Melbourne?+
Pricing depends on volume and service type: 120L security console service costs $8–$15 per bin per collection, 240L bins $15–$25, bulk archive destruction $80–$150 per cubic metre. On-site mobile shredding costs $150–$350 per visit. We typically negotiate 20–30% below standard rack rates by consolidating volumes across our client base.
How often should confidential documents be destroyed?+
The Australian Privacy Act 1988 requires personal information to be destroyed when no longer needed for its purpose. Most businesses should schedule document destruction at least monthly. High-volume offices (legal, medical, financial) typically need weekly collections. We assess your document flow and recommend the optimal frequency to balance compliance, security, and cost.
What happens to shredded paper after destruction?+
Shredded paper is baled and sent to Australian paper mills for recycling into new paper products. One tonne of recycled paper saves approximately 17 trees and 26,000 litres of water. This means your document destruction is both secure and environmentally responsible. We provide recycling certificates alongside destruction certificates upon request.
