Bundle Waste
Keep clean wax recovery separate from disease-affected hive materials and chemical-treatment waste. Do not send every damaged hive component into ordinary timber recycling.
Information to gather
- Identify the hive history before reusing, selling or disposing of wax and equipment.
- Keep suspect material secure while obtaining advice from Agriculture Victoria.
- Confirm receiver acceptance for packaging and uncontaminated timber separately.
What to check before deciding
A potential wax market is not evidence that every batch is safe or saleable. Follow biosecurity directions before considering recovery, and avoid exposing suspect honey or equipment to other bees.
