Practical checks for your business

These suggested planning steps help organise site information; they are not an exhaustive legal compliance checklist.

  1. Prepare mattress numbers, sizes and condition details. Flag pests, contamination or water damage before requesting acceptance.
  2. Ask for the receiving destination, proposed material recovery and treatment of unrecoverable material.
  3. Request a written price and receiving records. Report documented outcomes instead of assuming a recovery rate.

For a disputed requirement or enforcement issue, ask the relevant authority or qualified adviser to identify the current provision and how it applies. Do not rely on an old penalty amount or general website summary.

Keep a usable decision record

Can we say every collected mattress is recycled?

Use an outcome claim only when records support it. Ask the receiver to distinguish material recovery from disposal.
