Pallets: Collection, Used Pallet Prices and Pooling Fees

Pallets: Collection, Used Pallet Prices and Pooling Fees

Who collects pallets free, who pays for them, what recyclers charge for broken ones, and how to stop CHEP and Loscam hire fees, city by city.

Pallets are the one waste stream that can be worth money, cost money, or quietly bleed money through daily pooling hire. These guides name the recyclers that collect in each city with their published thresholds and fees, table what used pallets are worth, and explain how pooled pallets are returned and transferred so the hire meter stops.

Frequently asked questions

Will a recycler collect my pallets for free?+
Often, when the pallets are undamaged and above the recycler's minimum quantity. Published minimums differ by recycler and city; the collection guides list the ones we found with their sources.
How much are used pallets worth?+
It depends on type, size, condition and quantity. Pooled CHEP and Loscam pallets cannot be sold because they remain the pool operator's property. The prices guide tables the published buy and charge rates we found.
Why am I still paying CHEP or Loscam hire?+
Hire accrues daily on every pallet recorded against your account until it is transferred to another account or returned. Untransferred deliveries are the usual cause. The pooling guide walks through the transfer and return process.
Can broken pallets go in the general waste bin?+
They can, but timber in general waste attracts the full landfill levy and fills a bin fast. A timber recycler or a dedicated pallet collection is usually cheaper. Each city guide covers the local options.
Can Bundle Waste arrange pallet collection with our other waste?+
Yes. Sites that generate pallets usually also generate cardboard, plastic wrap and general waste. We negotiate the set together, which is where the savings are.
